Jerangkang Waterfalls (Pahang)
A 3D/2N trip to remote impressive waterfalls, starting from KL. For those who are really Nature Lovers….. and fit.
Highlights
- Jerangkang Waterfalls are located in Pahang, not far from Maran, about 200 km East from KL. Jerangkang Waterfalls are an endless succession of long cascades, more than 43 according to the local people. The trip includes one complete day to follow as many cascades as we can, in this deep nature far from any road. Unforgettable!
- Jerangkang Waterfalls are very close to Berkelah Waterfalls, which is another destination proposed by P.E.A, but easier. Among the P.E.A team, some prefer Berkelah, some prefer Jerangkang…Anyway, both are unforgettable trips!
- On the way back, we will visit the Elephant Sanctuary in Kuala Gandah.
Description
- Day 1
You will meet the P.E.A guide early morning in Kuala Lumpur town center in order to reach Maran by lunch time. After the lunch, we shall drive off-road to reach the camp at the bottom of the first cascade, have a swim and a short walk around. Then we will prepare the camp and the campfire for the night. - Day 2
After an early breakfast, we will climb the trail along the stream. This trail is quite tough, but you will be rewarded not only by the stream itself, but also by the forest along it. Scientists will pretend that this is not a primary forest, but the species of trees met there are the same! At the bottom of almost all cascades, there is a pool, place to enjoy a good dip. We will walk until you are too tired to continue. Only a few very fit people have reached the top and returned down in one day! Then we will return to our Base Camp, for another night in the nature. - Day 3
After an early breakfast, we will return to Kuala-Lumpur, taking time to visit some interesting places, such as the Elephant Sanctuary of Kuala Gandah, which is the base for the wild elephant relocation team We should reach KL in late afternoon.
