Historical Negeri Sembilan
Negeri Sembilan is a state located South of KL, a very quiet state, which has been the refuge of a minangkabau population having fled Sumatra some centuries ago.
Highlights
Main topics are the Sultan old palace in Sri Menanti and the Minangkabau houses.
Sri Menanti, about 100 km south-East of KL, hosts the Sultan former palace, made of wood without using a single nail and which is now a museum deserving a visit. The new palace of the Negeri Sembilan sultan is built nearby but cannot be visited.
Minangkabau house roofs have a particular shape, with their extremities raising in the air, like the two horns of the ox. We shall tell you why.
